<p>1 package frozen corn<br />
1/2 onion chopped tiny<br />
1 tomato diced<br />
1 chili pepper diced seeds and all<br />

2 avacado<br />
Sea salt<br />
Flax seed oil<br />
Fresh ground pepper</p>
<p>Boil corn in water. Chop onion,tomato,avacado. Mix with a squirt of flax oil and lemon juice. Set aside. Blend corn with some of cooking water adding salt,pepper,and flax oil to taste. Blend until very creamy. Serve in bowls. Top with salsa,salt,<br />
pepper and flax. Delicious!</p>

    I have two wonderful recipes I created today to share with you. They are healthy and Super Gourmet.....you'd be hard pressed to find better in a restaurant. They are healthy and Super Gourmet&#8230;..you&#8217;d be hard pressed to find better in a restaurant. First up is Smokey Tempeh stuffed Japanese Eggplant with Roasted Spanish Padron Peppers second is Stuffed Globe Zucchini&#8230;.both can be prepared simultaneously and served for dinner with a starchy dish of your choice&#8230;.we recommend a mashed and creamy veggie of some sort&#8230;potatoes, cauliflower, squash, yams, celery root&#8230;etc&#8230;.</a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Smokey Tempeh stuffed Japanese Eggplant served w/  spiced roasted Spanish Padron Peppers</a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">sautéed 8 strips of smokey tempeh strips with 1 chopped red onion and a teaspoon of cumin in a dry non stick pan for 1 minute on medium to release flavor of the cumin. Add a drizzle of olive oil, a grind of fresh pepper and saute until tempeh is slightly crisped and onions are translucent.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Remove from heat and set aside.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Toss whole Padron peppers in olive oil, salt and fresh crushed garlic in a bowl until evenly coated.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Cut eggplants lengthwise first then in half so you have 4 boats. Scoop out inside if each boat leaving an even quarter-inch of flesh everywhere. Save the insides in a bowl to the side. Do the same with the 4 globe zucchini&#8230;.cut off the tops and scoop out the middles.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Finley chop the zucchini and eggplant innards and toss together into a bowl. Finely chop one red pepper, crush 2 cloves of garlic and mix together.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Saute the chopped veggies with olive oil, salt, pepper and any green spices.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">When just soft, get ready to stuff.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Get 2 rectangular baking pans. Oil them.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Arrange 4 eggplant boat in one and fill each boat with tempeh red onion mixture.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Arrange the Padron peppers on the edges and the rows in between the eggplants. Cover with foil.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Arrange 4 globe zucchini . Use a slotted spoon to remove veggie mixture without much moisture and pack it into each globe. Bake uncovered.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Put both in an oven preheated to 425 degrees for 35 mins.</a><br />
<a href="http://www.gayatrihealing.com">Let cool uncovered 2 mins and serve.</a></p></blockquote>

<p>This Weekend Michael Franti and Spearhead came to SF for the 12th Annual Power to the Peaceful 3 day festival. I was only able to attend festivities on Saturday and Sunday. I have attended most of the 12&#8230;including the first one in Delores Park , which was to raise awareness to Free Mumia. Each year i am amazed to watch it grow in numbers, consciousness, and global humanitarian outreach.</p>

<p>I started the day on Saturday hiking thru the misty cold of SF Golden Gate park.  It&#8217;s closed to cars on the weekends, so i had to hike far with my yoga mat and big bag of supplies for a day in the park which started cold, got very hot in the middle, and very cold at the end. So San Francisco&#8230;the fog rules my bag contents here. I hiked through the fog to Speedway Meadows. A huge meadow to hold 100,000 people. Only two thousand showed for the 2 hour 9am yoga. We arrived with our mats and hot tea and hoodies. The teachers were wonderful, the sky cleared to deep sun by 9:30am , surprising us all with awe. The teachers led us through poses while talking about global, local, and inner peace. It was truly inspiring and challenging. I needed an Epsom salt bath so i could walk again for work as a Massage Therapist later that night for the after -after party at The Supperclub (<a title="supperclub" href="http://supperclub.com/">www.supperclub.com</a>). They had us do hip openers for the long two days ahead and heart openers for humanity.</p>

<p>After yoga , i grabbed a healthy lunch pieced together from several healthy food booths. Some raw food from Lydias Lovin&#8217; Foods, some excellent Dahl curry from some mysterious all american boys with a curry stand and some falafel from Amma (the hugging saint) food booth. All very delicious. There was plenty of meat on a stick available for those types&#8230;but i loved the healthy options. I then strolled thru the kid zone where i came across The Breastaurant&#8230;claming to be open 24/7 and babies eat for free. A diner like tent set up for moms to nurse infants at the festival. I cruised by the fresh flower alters, ornately and lovingly arranged around small statues of different spiritual, peaceful figures such as the Buddha. I watched the dj at the dj tent work the crowd into a pre 1pm frenzy. The sun burned thru at 80 degrees which is VERY hot for SF in a location with absolutely NO shade.</p>

<p>The morning crowd was very peaceful indeed. Doing yoga, playing with the children, watching talented bands perform. All with respect for each other. The afternoon crowd was coming for the headliners and a free show. The meadow became uncomfortably crowded and the new crowd seemed very drunk and high. I watched young ones put their blankets over other people&#8217;s blankets, shoes, bags, and picnic and sit down saying &#8220;fuck it, they are gone&#8230;this spot is ours!&#8221;  Many people must have left without their belongings. Not so peaceful of an attitude. I wonder how we could bring awareness to respect and peace to those around us&#8230;even in crowded peace festivals?</p>

<p>The festival is free, asking for a 5 dollar donation . I saw many people not donating. The festival runs at a loss and recovers some of Mr Franti&#8217;s personal donations by hosting a paid weekend at The Fillmore. An after party Saturday night, and 3 events Sunday: Yoga, Brazilian Dance, and a Children Concert. All of these events gave half the proceeds towards the event and half towards a local charity to help Hunters Point families and children survive the sf ghetto life challenges. Michael lives in Hunters Point and gave directly back to his community. A truly inspirational Peace Warrior. I am all about actively helping children and their parents take better care of themselves and each other. The peace we spin at home vibrates out one person at a time around the globe. Every meaningful gesture to help counts. This festival is a huge step towards humanizing the ugly parts of life we turn our heads away from. A noble event of massive proportions gathering some of the most amazing activists in our community.</p>

<address> The Sunday morning Yoga was much more intimate and totally strange, in a good way. We gathered at 10am at The Fillmore, a live music historical venue with alcohol soaked carpets and a friendly, albeit tired, staff to welcome and greet us. Not the usual yoga setting. The stage was set up for a concert, stage &#8220;rock&#8221; lights ablaze  all over our yoga mats and yogis padding around with turned up noses at their sticky feet from the carpet and an hour late start! Rock Star Yoga has to be late&#8230;it&#8217;s a law. Truly bizarre scene. The room was filled with yoga teachers old and young, mostly female and white. The tickets were $42 &#8230;.30 for the event and 12 for Ticketmaster.  A bit high of a service charge, me thinks&#8230;The teacher&#8217;s name was Erin. She was more like a Minister of Peace giving us a sermon. It was totally like Church. Michael and Jay Bowman serenaded us on guitars while we yoga&#8217;ed our little hearts out. They chose songs about sunshine, self-trust, global change and community to draw us all together while Erin spoke of taking global change into our own hands and being pro-active about it. I connected with a girl next to me&#8230;all of our mats were touching, it was very close. She is in charge of getting together sponsorship for the festival. The beautiful group energy had most of the class speechless with joy by its conclusion. As if that&#8217;s not enough, Michael and Jay came out for photos, hugs, and personal chats, remaining on the scene until the last yogi fan had had their moment. Truly a sweet connection to make with the small audience. Maybe 100 people came to yoga, versus the 100,000 at the festival&#8230;.so it was possible for them to reach out like this. </address>

<p>tomatoes</p>
<p>onion&#8230;red or white</p>
<p>day old bread</p>
<p>cucumber</p>
<p>olive oil</p>
<p>light, fruity vinager</p>
<p>water</p>
<p>salt and pepper</p>
<p>This recipe is to taste. Cut up tomatoes, onion,cucumber and place in blender with some cubed day old bread soaked in olive oil&#8230; if you like. Add some water, salt, pepper, quite a bit of olive oil and more vinegar than you would think. blend until totally smooth and creamy.</p>
<p>chill for an hour. garlic can be added if you like, blended in right before serving so it doesn&#8217;t overpower soup.</p>
<p>Serve in bowls. Serve each person a plate filled with tiny chopped tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and crispy croutons fried in olive oil.  Top with a drizzle of olive oil and some fresh ground sea salt and pepper. This is heaven in hot weather. The bread can be left out of the blended part , but the croutons are essential to the finished product! Have guests dump entire plate of goodies into soup, season, and enjoy&#8230;.mmmmmmm.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is Spring, time to kick your own ass into a healthier version of <strong>You</strong>. It&#8217;s time to cleanse the body and refocus on exercise and stress reduction. A new approach to your self-care is in perfect accord with the rebirth of nature all around us. The bounty of fresh seasonal produce available is sure to inspire you to healthier food choices every day. The sun is shining, outdoor exercise is most enticing. It&#8217;s an exciting season, coming out of the dark winter heading into longer days. It puts almost everyone in a good mood. Here is a simple to follow , do it your self plan to kick your own ass into better shape for summer. Follow it to the T, and you are guaranteed improved habits and a more beautiful <strong>You</strong> for summer, inside and out.</p>
<p>First , make a plan. Get out some index cards and write the following questions and answers down and post the cards on your bathroom mirror, or similar location you look towards daily.</p>
<p>1. I will release these three foods this week (choose three foods you regularly eat that are not very healthy&#8230;fried, heavy carb or  processed sugar, packaged foods, processed foods, white flour, dairy, meat, wheat, gluten etc..)</p>
<p>2. I will replace them with these three healthier choices this week</p>
<p>3. I will commit to (what type of exersize,  how many minutes,how many times a week)</p>
<p>4. I will deep breathe (how many minutes a day) sit up, close eyes . Inhale 8. Hold 8. Exhale 8.</p>
<p>5. I will take (how many) Yoga or Tai Chi classes this week (eventual goal is #, start one a week and work up)</p>
<p>6. I will release these unhealthy habits or behaviors this week ( cigarettes, alcohol, drugs, eating out, eating on the run, eating non organic food, etc) and replace them with these things (a trip to the hot springs, agave instead of sugar, naps, a day with a good friend&#8230;things that make you feel good.)</p>
<p>The trick to kicking your own ass and changing your habits around eating , exercise , and self-care is being honest with yourself and sticking to your plan.</p>
<p>Keep a journal recording everything you eat and drink each day, and how it maks you feel. Keep track of what excercise you do for how long and how you feel . At the end of every week go through the journal and highlight foods that you need to eliminate , these are the foods you replace with healthier choices next week. Do this each week, making healthier choices three at a time , until you have achieved the perfect way to care for and nourish yourself.</p>
<p>Set an intention and use it every time you need to make a decision about what to feed yourself or how much to exercise or hit your yoga mat. Your intention should be from deep down ,and quite heart-felt. It should resonate with the core being of who you are and speak to what and who you want to be and become. Some examples of past student intentions are &#8216;I want to live my live with joy&#8217;, &#8216;i want to feed myself better&#8217;, i want to make healthier choices&#8217;, &#8216;I am successful&#8217;,  and &#8216;I have everything I need&#8217;. Choose something direct and not to wordy you will easily remember and recall. write it on your index cards with your self agreements and use it everyday by keeping it in your awareness and checking your actions and behaviors against it.</p>
<p>Transition slowly. Each week keep transitioning towards better eating, exercise, stress reduction, and mind-body balance. The journal is essential. It is your account of you being accountable to yourself. It will also give you real things to work with each week . There is always room to improve your self-care and your habits. Be gentle with yourself and others while going through this transition. You may feel tired or irritable, but you may also feel energetic and cleane&#8230;each day will differ. Expect to take time to give your body and mind what it needs most in each moment. Welcome to the most <strong>powerful, beautiful You </strong>possible.</p>
